The Vedic International Council of Astrological Scholars (VICAS) is an international scholarly recognition council dedicated to identifying, evaluating and honouring individuals who have made meaningful contributions to Astrology and allied Vedic sciences.

Established under the aegis of the Vedic Science Research Organization (VSRO), VICAS brings together the principles of traditional wisdom, scholarly evaluation and responsible recognition.

We believe that recognition must reflect genuine contributions—not merely reputation, influence or the ability to pay.

Across generations, scholars, teachers, researchers and practitioners have dedicated their lives to understanding, preserving and sharing the knowledge of Vedic sciences.

Many have authored valuable books, conducted research, trained generations of students, preserved traditional knowledge or contributed significantly to their communities.

Yet meaningful contributions do not always receive the recognition they deserve.

At the same time, the increasing commercialisation of awards raises important questions about the credibility and significance of recognition.

VICAS was established to address these concerns through a principled and scholarly approach to recognition.

We believe that an honour should represent the genuine achievements and contributions of its recipient.

An award should be the result of an evaluation—not the outcome of a transaction.

VICAS operates under the umbrella of the Vedic Science Research Organization (VSRO), Hyderabad, an institution dedicated to education, research and the preservation of Vedic sciences.

This association provides VICAS with access to scholarly perspectives, research-oriented methodologies and academic expertise.

While VSRO provides institutional support, VICAS is designed to maintain autonomy in the evaluation and selection of its honourees through its designated scholarly jury.
